How your school and or orphanage can join the Ukraine LL program for 2012
STEPS TO START A NEW PROGRAM for 2012:
1. Need 40 to 50 children (minimum), in one school, or from different schools, or from an orphanage, or a school and orphanage, any combination, ages 9-12, to agree to play, boys and girls may play together. Younger children can play too, no minimum number, but they may not join the 9-12 year olds, safety reasons of course. Older children may play also, but not with the younger kids. Older kids....I strongly suggest a softball program.
WHY 40 - 50? This way 4 teams can be formed to play regular season games in April and May. Playing more games in Sept and Oct is encouraged. No need to travel to play games.
2. The Director of the school or orphanage must agree to add a new sports program. Two or more teachers in that school must agree to learn how to teach and coach a new sport.
I along with my Ukraine LL staff will train the teachers and the children will slowly learn how to play a new sport.
3. A field is needed to play on, it could be a soccer field. You will need a BACKSTOP and places for children to sit, which is protected.
4. E - mail, lists of children, ages, schedule of games, name of President, same as steps mentioned above.
Then, I will register the school or orphanage officially with Williamsport , PA, USA and than that school(s) or orphanage WILL become a member of the biggest world wide program for children.
- Equipment will be needed. I will do my best to supply your league with a 'starter set' enough for 40 - 50 children to play. Then each league is responsible to get additional equipment. Anyone from your league traveling to New York, USA may contact me at 718 - 415 - 7821 for a possible donation of equipment. Please tell me in advance.
That simple to join. Then the school or orphanage will be eligible to send their all ― star team to compete in official Ukraine Little League Baseball.
- AT THE KIND OF MAY, EACH LEAGUE MAY FORM THEIR ALL - STAR TEAM (COMBINED) AND SEND THEM TO THE VARIOUS Ukraine LL CHAMPIONSHIPS, IF THEY WISH.
A. By rule, Leagues must register EACH YEAR. For 2012, by March 1.
- Please e - mail to me ( bt4ukraine@aol.com) a list of children, their address, full age MM/DD/YYYY. Also the name of the League. You may add more children till May 1. NO ONE added after MAY 1 may PLAY ON YOUR ALL STAR TEAM.
- E mail me a schedule of at least 12 games, FOR EACH TEAM, games must be played in April and May.
ALL NEW LEAGUES SHOULD START TO PLAY GAMES AS SOON AS CHILDREN KNOW THE BASIC RULES.
SAFETY FIRST.
START WITH TEE - BALL GAMES.
THEN COACH PITCH GAMES.
AS YOU CONTINUE WORKING WITH THROWING, CATCHING, HITTING AND BASE RUNNING SKILLS, try to have children start to pitch to a catcher.

- E - mail me the name of League President, MAY NOT BE A COACH, full mailing address and mobile number. Vice President too, may be a coach and other adults who will help.
E. Once I have received ALL of this information, your league will be invited to compete at various Ukraine LL Baseball Championships.
1. THEN, each child must have insurance coverage to compete at the Championships. Proof to be presented at Technical meeting.
2. THEN, various proofs of age and a recent photo must be presented at the Technical meeting before each Championship.
3. ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE COMPLETE FOR THAT CHILD TO COMPETE.
FYI, Official Ukraine Little League Championships held in 2011:
- The 12th Ukraine Little League Baseball for children was held for ages 11 and 12 as of April 30 of 2011. Dates: June 15 (day of arrival) to June 19, 2011. All official Chartered Leagues will be invited by me. Place: Cherkasy.
Kirovograd LL beat Cherkasy LL 15 - 0 to win the Ukraine Little League Championships. They now advance to Kutno, Poland for the European Regionals as the Ukraine entry,
b. 4th Ukraine Little League Baseball Championships for orphans from internats Sept 20 (day of arrival) - Sept 25, 2011 ages 11 - 12 as of April 30, 2011, to be held in Kremenets, Ternopil. By invitation only.
